【大紀元2020年07月15日訊】（大紀元記者周行多倫多報導）60多名加拿大國會議員、4名參議員、超過20個社區團體已在一份公開信上簽名，要求加拿大政府使用《馬格尼茨基法》制裁有關的中共及香港政府官員。
7月14日在Alliance Canada Hong Kong（加拿大香港聯盟）網站公布的這封信，當天上午已經有65位現任加拿大國會議員、4名現任參議員、20多個社區團體簽名。
這封信寫給加拿大總理特魯多、副總理方慧蘭及外交部長商鵬飛。信中寫道：「我們謹此連署，促請加拿大政府啟用《外國腐敗官員受害者正義法》（亦稱馬格尼茲基法案）S.C. 2017，c 21，針對在西藏、東突厥斯坦（新疆）及香港觸犯侵害人權等罪行之官員實施制裁。」
該信表示，作為在國際人權領域的領袖，加拿大以《馬格尼茨基法》的方式制裁這些官員，會是一個強有力的行動，也與加拿大過去運用這一法案的方式相一致。
聯邦保守黨的近半數國會議員已簽署該信。簽名表上未見保守黨領袖熙爾（Andrew Scheer）、黨領袖熱門候選人麥凱（Peter MacKay）及奧圖爾（Erin O’Toole）的名字，但他們之前都已公開表示，支持使用《馬格尼茨基法》制裁中共官員。
已經在該信上簽名的，還包括3位綠黨議員、2位魁北克政團議員，2名自由黨議員及1名新民主黨議員。
4位簽名的參議員是：侯薩科斯（Leo Housakos）、弗魯姆（Linda Frum）、麥克弗蘭（Marilou McPhedran）及達豐德（Pierre Dalphond）。卑詩省高貴林港市長韋斯特（Brad West）也簽了名。
美國政府在7月9日宣布，對在新疆涉及侵犯人權的中共官員與實體進行制裁，凍結資產並禁止入境。被制裁的中共官員包括：中共中央政治局委員、維吾爾自治區黨委書記陳全國；前維吾爾自治區黨委副書記朱海侖；自治區公安廳廳長兼黨委書記王明山；前自治區公安廳黨委書記霍留軍。被制裁的實體是新疆自治區公安廳。
6月下旬，13名加拿大參議員簽署了由侯薩科斯共同撰寫的一封信，信中稱中共政府是「對人類的最大威脅」。
加拿大香港聯盟已經向加拿大政府遞交了一份希望制裁的官員名單，其中包括已經在美國制裁名單上的陳全國、朱海侖。另外還有中共政府現任公安部部長兼黨委書記趙克志、現任中共中央政治局常委兼粵港澳大灣區建設領導小組組長長韓正、前香港警務處處長盧偉聰、現任香港警務處處長鄧炳強。
