畫畫絕不能受「規範」限制，這點和書法有很大的不同。有一個寫書法的人每次聯展都寫一張很大的草書「暢懷」，寫來寫去，永遠都在暢懷。但畫畫的人如果展相同或類似的作品，馬上有人會指責他：「毫無創意」。
尤有甚者，書法多了一點、少了一撇都不行，如草書「中」，在左下邊少了這麼一提，就變成「巾」字了，這算是寫錯字了，寫錯字是不被允許的。畫畫不同喔，多畫一隻飛鳥，少畫一艘船，甚至少了一座山都沒關係，自由自在，不必管它什麼「規範」的存在。

Painting must not be restricted by “norm”, that very differs from calligraphy. There is a calligrapher who usually writes a big paper in cursive style with joyful at the joint exhibition, always joyfully writing and writing. However, if the painter who draws the same or similar article, he will be appointed out immediately and accused “no innovation”.
Even worse accusation, a little bit more or a little bit less in writing calligraphy is not allowed, for instance, the cursive style “中 Chung” less a bit in the lower left, it becomes a “巾towel”, so this is a typo, which is not allowed. Drawing a paint is different, a bird more, a less boat or even a less mountain that does not matter, leisurely and carefree, no “norms” exists.@
