I 如果当作“我”，那是第一人称，所以后面要接am, 过去式则用was。
I 如果当作第9个英文字母I，那就是一个普通名词，所以后面的动词得用is才行。所以在最后一句中，学生应该回答：“I” is the ninth letter of the alphabet.
