黃曆新年賀信

我非常榮幸地在此祝願華裔澳洲人黃曆新年快樂。黃曆新年不僅是中華曆法中歷時最長、最重要的節慶日，也是澳洲夏季中一個值得珍視的佳節。

牛年的核心精神特徵——勤勉、誠實和鍥而不捨，這每一種特徵都將幫助我們走出疫霾，恢復生息。

我在此還要向華人社區的成就和勃勃生機報以謝忱。你們是成就澳洲多元文化的重要組成部分，沒有你們，這個國家簡直不可想像。

作為澳洲工黨領袖，我祝願華裔澳洲人在牛年裡身體健康、事業有成、吉祥如意、幸福美滿、諸事順遂。在歷經2020年的種種挑戰後，願你們的新年慶祝象徵著美好一年的來臨。

LUNAR NEW YEAR

It is with great pleasure I wish Chinese Australians a happy Lunar New Year. Not only is it the longest and most important festivity on the Chinese calendar, it has also become a cherished fixture of the Australian summer.

Among the core themes of the Year of the Ox are diligence, honesty and persistence. Every one of these is a value that will stand us in good stead as we emerge from this time of pandemic and begin the recovery.

I would also like to acknowledge the success and vibrancy of the Chinese community. You are such an important part of the success of Australia’s multiculturalism that it is simply impossible to imagine this country without you.

As Leader of the Australian Labor Party, I wish Chinese Australians good health, success, luck, happiness and prosperity for the Year of the Ox. After all the challenges of 2020, may your celebrations be a joyous sign of better times to come.
