福爾可定（Pholcodine）是一種有機化合物，可用於止咳祛痰和抗鼻黏膜充血藥，臨床上主要治療劇烈乾咳和中等程度的疼痛。
2月28日，治療用品管理局（TGA）宣布召回含有福爾可定的咳嗽藥，包括止咳糖漿和潤喉糖。該機構表示，在過去12個月中，全澳有50起疑似與福爾可定、麻醉劑共同使用後出現過敏的案例，至少已經有一人死亡。
許多治療感冒咳嗽的藥品中都含有福爾可定，包括Codral、Duro-Tuss、Bisolvon、Amcal和Benadryl乾咳糖漿等。
出售含有福爾可定藥品的藥店有七天的時間來召回這些藥品。
治療用品管理局負責人斯凱里特（John Skerritt）說：「如果你將需要接受全身麻醉，並且在過去12個月內服用過含有福爾可定的藥物，我建議你告訴你的醫療人員。醫療人員也應檢查將接受全身麻醉的病人在過去12個月內是否服用過含福爾可定的藥物。」
澳洲藥房協會（PGA）主席特沃米（Trent Twomey）對天空新聞說，含有福爾可定的藥物自20世紀50年代以來一直在銷售，是全國銷量最大的止咳藥，在接受手術麻醉前一年內服用過這種藥物的人可能出現過敏性休克，儘管這種症狀非常罕見，但非常嚴重，有可能致命。
