【大紀元10月5日訊】仁之泉工作室按：自我工作室因為參與以法維權工作遭受大陸警方的打壓和侵擾以來，海內外各界友人給予了極大關注，美國駐華大使館特別為此發表聲明，聯合國人權高級專員阿爾布爾訪華期間也就此質詢了中國政府，著名的《紐約時報》並及時進行了新聞報導。在此，我們向所有關注中國人權事業的海內外各界朋友表示誠摯的感謝。這裡，特別發表一封美國國會議員John F. Tierney致本人權機構的信件，以此激勵所有緻力於中國人權事業進步的同仁們。(趙昕)

親愛的庫蒂（Cootey ）先生：
感謝您對中國人權狀況的評價，並感謝侯文卓小姐的來信。我很高興有機會能回信給您們。
作為國會人權問題核心小組（the Congressional Human RightsCaucus）的一名成員，我一直致力於促進全世界範圍內的對人權的尊重，並致力於終止酷刑以及其他的殘暴和非人道的刑罰。因此，我認為，美國必須堅持要求中國政府釋放所有受到監禁的良心犯，並立即終止實施酷刑和其他殘暴的、非人性的、有辱人格尊嚴的刑罰，以及諸如您在給我辦公室的來信中所詳細陳述的那些刑罰。過去，我曾經通過與我的一些同事聯名簽署書信向布什總統表達了此類的擔憂，以督促總統利用美國的影響力進行施壓，促使中國政府釋放關押的政治犯。

Dear Mr. Cootey:
Thank you for your comments regarding human rights in China and for forwarding Hou Wen Zhuo’s letter. I appreciate the opportunity to respond.
As a member of the Congressional Human Rights Caucus, I consistently work to promote respect for human rights worldwide and to end torture and other cruel and degrading punishments. In that vein, I believe the United States must insist that the Chinese government release from detention all prisoners of conscience and put an immediate end to the practices of torture and other cruel,inhuman, and degrading treatment, such as was detailed in the letter you forwarded to my office. In the past, I have expressed such concerns to President Bush through cosigning letters with many of my colleagues that urged him to use the influence of the United States to press for the release of political prisoners in China.
Be assured that I will continue to work with like-minded colleagues to advocate for human rights and political freedoms for all people. I appreciate your commitment to the same.
