尊敬的参议员﹕
新唐人电视(NTDTV) 是唯一家在中国拥有大量观众的独立中文电视台﹐在中国的用户只要有个人卫星盘就可以接收新唐人电视信号。
基于巴黎的欧洲卫星公司传送新唐人在亚洲的信号﹐它可能屈服于来自中国政府的压力﹐将终止向亚洲地区传输新唐人电视台的信号。Eutelsat 是美国政府卫星业务的最大供应商。但是﹐美国纳税人的钱不应该资助那些倾向于专制政权﹑反对自由媒介的卫星公司。
我请您运用您的影响力﹐对欧洲卫星公司施加压力﹐公开请求布什总统警告该公司﹐如果它停止传送新唐人电视在亚洲的信号﹐美国将取消与其的合同。

Dear Senators:
New Tang Dynasty TV (NTDTV) is the only independent Chinese language TV reaching millions of private satellite dishes across China.
Eutelsat, the Paris based satellite company that transmits NTDTV over Asia, may be surrendering to pressures from the government of the People’s Republic of China and therefore, may terminate broadcasting NTDTV in Asia. Eutelsat is the largest supplier of satellite services to the U.S. government. However, U.S. taxpayers should not be funding satellite companies that discriminate in favor of repressive regimes and against free media.
I ask that you utilize your offices in applying pressure on Eutelsat by publicly calling upon President Bush to threaten to withhold U.S. contracts from Eutelsat if it silences NTDTV by refusing to carry throughout Asia.
