【大纪元2月27日讯】 随着全球声援大陆反迫害维权绝食活动的持续开展，越来越多的主流社会各界人士关注和支持这一和平非暴力抗争。二月二十日，加拿大国会议员罗伯．安德斯给加拿大绝食声援团发来了一封支持信，信中写道：“人权律师高智晟和其他和他一样勇敢的人们遭受了政府的骚扰与迫害，但他和其他支持自由的人士们所发动的接力绝食引起了（世人）对（中国维权）状况的关注，也是在告诉中共无论他们怎样企图扼杀自由，人民的意愿往往比压制来得更强大。”

中国在过去几年里言论自由与人权状况日趋恶化。那些曾经为无力反抗北京极权政府的弱势群体呼吁的维权人士如今也渐趋沉默。
人权律师高智晟和其他和他一样勇敢的人们遭受了政府的骚扰与迫害，但他和其他支持自由的人士们所发动的接力绝食引起了（世人）对（中国维权）状况的关注，也是在告诉中共无论他们怎样企图扼杀自由，人民的意愿往往比压制来得更强大。

In the past years, freedom of speech and human rights have further deteriorated in the People’s Republic of China. Advocates working on behalf those that are powerless against the authoritarian state in Beijing are now in turn being silenced.
Brave people such as human rights lawyer Gao Zhisheng have been subjected to
harassment and persecution by the government. The rolling hunger strike he and other supporters of freedom have initiated brings attention to this situation and puts the Communist Party of China on alert that no matter how ruthlessly they attempt to crush liberty, the will of the people is strongest than that of oppression.
To quote Thomas Jefferson, “Enlighten the people generally, and tyranny and oppressions of body and mind will vanish like evil spirits at the dawn of day.”
