But last week, Chinese officials admitted for the first time that there was poison in the exported dumplings—and that they may have been deliberately laced—according to a Japan Broadcasting Corporation report. 但根據一家日本廣播公司報導，上週中國官員首次承認，在出口的水餃中有毒，而且可能是故意加進去的。
Traces of an organic phosphorous insecticide, banned in Japan but not in China, were found in a sampling of dumplings made by Tianyang Food Processing in Hebei Province. 在由河北天洋食品公司所製造的水餃樣品中，發現有機磷殺蟲劑，這種殺蟲劑在日本是被禁用的，但在中國則沒有。
In July, the Japanese government was accused by the media of ignoring safety concerns because it avoided—at Beijing’s request—disclosing that people in China were also poisoned by the same product from the same company. 七月份日本政府被媒體控訴：在北京的要求下忽略安全考量，因為日政府避免公佈：中國人民也因為來自同一家公司的相同產品而中毒。
