【句型解說】
在這則笑話中，兒子問父親什麼是白痴？（What is an idiot?）因為癡呆人說話常會讓人覺得不知所云，所以父親就說「白痴就是一個試圖以很奇怪、很冗長的方式解釋他的想法，以致於另一個聽他說話的人無法理解他。」
但父親卻是以「好幾個子句結合成一個直述句」的冗長方式來解釋，結果兒子還是不懂，那麼「笑點」就在於隱喻父親「說人說自己」囉！
