野薑花(工筆)

野薑花喜歡成群地生長在水之湄──池塘畔、野溪旁、山溝邊,這些地方就是它們快樂的天地。

野薑花盛開時,濃郁的香氣可以飄得很遠,是一種高貴有氣質的花。

在這幅畫中,占三分之二畫面的野薑花掩掩映映,如煙似霧,宛如一處氤氳的花海。兩隻白鷺鷥從花叢中走出來,驚鴻一瞥,餘韻未盡。

畫花,我認為的:如果花是白色的,就行鉤邊,否則紙是白的,花也是白的,不容易區分出來。至於有色的花,畫花瓣時,先把基礎色沾上佔筆毛三分之二,次加較深同系的色,佔二分之一,最後筆尖約四分之一處再蘸上更深的同系色,然後以斜筆壓捺,一筆完成,可以得到十分理想的漸層效果。

White ginger lily / ink and color painting

White ginger lilies like to grow in patches near water, such as by the edge of the pond, near a wild stream, or by a mountain trickle. The lilies are happiest growing in these places.

When the white ginger lily is in full bloom, its intoxicating fragrance can carry far in the air. It is a very elegant and noble flower.

In this painting, white ginger lilies occupy approximately 2/3 of the scene. The dense sea of flowers looks like mist or smoke. Two white egrets are walking out of the flowers; like a glimpse of extraordinary beauty, the overtones of this scene are endlessly enthralling.

As far as painting flowers is concerned, I believe that if the flowers are white, then it’s best to outline them. Otherwise, since the paper is white and the flowers are white too, they will be difficult to distinguish. If the flowers are other colors, however, when painting the petals, I first apply a base color to two thirds of my brush, and then apply a deeper color with a complementary tone to half of the brush. I finally apply an even deeper color with a complementary tone to the tip of the brush—the last quarter. I paint the petals pressing down with the brush at an angle, which yields a very pleasing gradual color changes.@
