紅汀(彩墨)

打從第四冊個人專集開始,我都在畫作的旁邊搭配一些文字。

寫這些文字主要的目的是記錄作畫當下的心境,畫時的感覺,甚至於畫畫的過程。後來又覺得文字敘述稍有不足,甚或會重複而無新意,因此加寫了一些「創作心得」;或一些個人的「創作理念」。也許有些文字的敘述和旁邊搭配的畫無甚相關,但仍是作者個人心情思緒的抒發──以此留下一些心音筆痕,雪泥鴻爪。

我常在上課時和學生談論創作理念、技巧……等等,但因為沒有記錄下來,頗感遺憾。在這輯畫冊裡,我們多談一些,爾後的專集裡更可放多一點,以便就教於方家。

Hongding/ink and color painting

I have always written some text beside my paintings starting from the fourth album of my work.

My purpose in writing these words is chiefly to record my thoughts at the time I made the painting, what I felt when I was painting, or even the process of making the painting. Afterwards, I felt that what I was writing was inadequate, and it often became a bit repetitious. As a consequence, I started adding some creative insights or words about my individual artistic philosophy. Although sometimes the text was not closely connected with the painting next to it, it still conveyed my feelings and thinking. This is how I preserve some tangible traces of my thinking.

I often discuss creative ideas and technique with my students in class, and I feel a bit of regret that I have never kept records of these discussions. There is more discussion in this album, and I’d like to put more in future albums, which will help attract more advice from experts and masters. @
