Shamraiz Khan’s family in the Pakistani town of Abbottabad wants him back.

His son says he was taken away by Pakistani soldiers after the U.S. raid on the home of a neighbor they’ve now been told was Osama bin Laden.

Khan’s family say he went out to see what was happening as U.S. troops stormed bin Laden’s large house across the street.

He came back inside and took cover with his relatives as a gunfight erupted.

“For God’s sake, return my son to me. I am very upset. I am ill and unable to get up. For God’s sake, tell the prime minister to get my son back. I beg of you.”

On Wednesday, life had the air of normality in the neighborhood where bin Laden apparently lived for up to six years undiscovered.
