And ahead of the June 4th anniversary, Chinese security officials quietly approached the families of some of those killed in the Tiananmen Square Massacre–offering to give private compensation to diffuse anger. But mothers of the victims said no. They want the Chinese Communist Party to formally discuss the issue and have an open public dialogue.
在六四周年之前，中国公安人员暗中与当时在天安门广场遭大屠杀的受害者家属连系，提供私下赔偿以化解愤怒。但受害者的母亲们说不。她们希望中共正式讨论这项议题，举行公开对话。
The group, Tiananmen Mothers, published a letter on Tuesday through the organization Human Rights in China. The letter points out there were no discussions of the Chinese regime publicly admitting the massacre, nor of whether any investigations would be carried out.
天安门母亲们的团体，周二透过在中国的人权组织发表公开信。信中指出，没有中共政权公开承认大屠杀的讨论，也没有任何调查在进行。
Tiananmen Mothers has been campaigning for open dialogue with the Chinese regime about the massacre for more than a decade. Many of the members have experienced harassment and police surveillance.
天安门母亲们为与中共政权公开对话谈大屠杀，己从事活动超过十年。许多成员都经历骚扰和警察的监视。
